Scottish Labour rocked by sex scandal as leader leaves wife for man

Scottish Labour leader, Iain Gray is at the centre of a sex scandal today after leaving his wife and children for another man.
Iain Grey, 51 is said to have begun an affair with an interior designer.

Today's revelation prompted accusations that Mr Gray failed to back gay rights votes in parliment, but the Labour Party closed ranks and are refusing to be drawn into a debate over his future and defending his right to keep his domestic arrangements private.

Mr Brown is standing by him and it is understood there is no question of him losing his Scottish leader position.

Speaking outside his £140,000 flat in Edinburgh, Mr Gray said: "It is true that my marriage ended a couple of months ago. That is a sad thing but it happens. I am not commenting on anything else. I am not in a current relationship."
His mother-in-law told of her dismay but hoped that the 14-year marriage could be repaired. She said: "It's sad but it's not really unusual any more. It's modern life isn't it? Men seem to think they can get away with it now..

In the past, Mr Gray voted against four readings of the Adoption and Children Bill - a measure to allow unmarried couples both straight and gay to adopt children. He did not vote on Labour's Bill to lift the ban on councils promoting information about homosexuality.

  5. Well well, I thought this was a joke initially but it seems it's fact. No wonder he's been lying low since Glenrothes and looks thoroughly knackered at FMQs.

  10. Off topic I know, but seeing as sex scandals are the order of the day.
A couple of years ago a married male Lib-Dem MSP was caught on the parliament's CCTV performing a sex act with another unknown male. The story was reported in The Scotsman at the time, disappeared from their website after after a couple of days, and was never mentioned in the MSM again. It wasn't long after that Jim Wallace resigned his leadership. Was Wallace the man in question? If not, who was it?

  14. Scotland...Labour MSP.

From where i am sitting the Labour party can certainly dish it out to others, ie the emails etc but when someone does it back to you then you run off crying.

Labour are the sleaze party, they invented sleaze. Try reading Guy Fawkes blog, he is really hammering you lot.

Will the same strenuous action be taken by the Labour Party against Brown and his team of spin-doctors?

  16. All made up. Your quote "That is a sad thing but it happens. I am not commenting on anything else. I am not in a current relationship" comes straight from a Daily Mail article in 2006 about a Tory sex scandal.
